Privacy Policy

MOSS Studio keeps all of your work on your device, in the app's own storage:

We have no copy of any of it. If you delete MOSS Studio, all of it goes with the app. You can read and copy your own files with the Files app.

MOSS Studio counts which brushes and features get used, so we know what to improve. Turn it off at any time: Settings → Share usage anonymously. Turn it off and the app sends nothing and deletes anything waiting to be sent. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, MOSS Studio asks you on first launch and sends nothing until you say yes.

Each report holds:

The only identifier is a random number. It is not your Apple Account, not the advertising identifier, and not your device ID. It is made on your device, it dies when you delete the app, and it makes itself new every 30 days. Nothing else in the world knows this number, so it cannot connect you to anything outside MOSS Studio.

Our server drops your IP address before it writes anything down.

These reports never hold your drawings, your stroke paths, your typed text, or any name you gave a sketchpad, a brush, or a palette.

MOSS Studio sends a bug report only when you write one and tap send. The report holds:

Before you send, the panel tells you that the report carries recent logs and your device details, and it puts the switch for the canvas picture right below the box. The list above is the whole of it.

We read a report to fix the problem you told us about, and for nothing else. Do not type anything private in the box, and do not put anything private in a brush name you might have in hand when you send one.

MOSS Studio has no advertisements and no third-party analytics kit. Nothing we make follows you to other apps or websites.

MOSS Studio asks for these only at the moment you use the feature, and it works without them.

When you add a photo to a canvas, iOS shows you the picker and hands MOSS Studio only the picture you chose. The app never sees the rest of your library.

These companies act for us. Neither may use your information for anything of their own.

Nobody else receives anything from the app.

MOSS Studio is made for everybody, and children use it. We built it so that a child can use the app without giving anything away. It asks for no personal information, has no sign-in, shows no advertisements, has no tracking, and has no chat, comments, or way to meet other people. The usage counts hold no personal information.

Nothing a child draws goes anywhere on its own. MOSS Studio cannot post, publish, or send a drawing, and there is nobody on the other end of it to see one.

A bug report is the one exception, because a person writes it and it can carry a picture of the canvas. The switch for that picture sits on the same panel. Parents: if you do not want your child to send one, tell them not to use Report bug.

If a child sent us a bug report you want removed, write to hey@brainfruit.studio and we will delete it.

Write to hey@brainfruit.studio and we will delete anything we hold that came from you. We do not need a reason.

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a US state with a privacy law, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and complain to your data protection authority. Write to hey@brainfruit.studio. Please tell us the date and the device, because there is no name on any record and this is the only way we can find it.

For people in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland: MOSS Studio asks you on first launch whether to share usage counts, and sends nothing until you answer. Our lawful basis is your consent, and you can take it back at any time in Settings. Our lawful basis for a bug report is your request for help.

If we change what MOSS Studio sends, we will change this page and move the date at the top. If the change is large, we will say so in the app.
